Abstract
This study compares the partition coefficient measurements generated with an ion microprobe versus the measurements generated using an electron microprobe. The goal was to use the electron microprobe, an unproven technique, to duplicate the results on partition coefficients of selected elements at percent doping levels obtained using the ion microprobe. Reproducing these numbers to a high degree of certainty would have a significant impact on the field of experimental petrology.
