Abstract
The nature of this project has been studio exploration in sculpting. The aim has been to create sculptures of satisfactory quality for an exhibition at the end of the Spring semester, 1968. The nature and aim of my project have been brought about by creating forms in space of wood and metal. The objective in creating these forms has been to gain personal growth as an artist/sculptor. To achieve this, several series of related pieces have been done in wood and metal. By experimenting with these materials, knowledge of their sculptural limits has been gained. Growth as an artist has come about through working in a progressive developmental pattern. Growth as a sculptor bas come through day by day direct confrontation with the media. The achievement of these goals has been invaluable preparation and experience for more advanced work and study.
