Most of the people to whom she had letter of introduction are out of town; met Mr. and Mr.s Curtis, Maerican friends of John Sargent and Henry James, "these sor of Americans, who shudder at Howells, look up to James as a sort of patron saint of cosmpolitan refinement"; will return to florence on the 25th, as Venice is expensive.
