Abstract

This text describes this year and a half of research. It first presents a general background to the various domains concerned with this work, including classifier systems, Genetic Algorithms and Learning Classifier Systems, and two robotic tasks. After this is an overview of the preliminary work, completed in my junior year, that led me to my honors project. The next chapter contains a full description of the RCS algorithm, followed by a chapter containing the results of the experiments executed by RCS. Finally, I will conclude with remarks on the experience as a whole, and what the future holds for RCS.
