Abstract
My experience with the US Conference of Mayors and the National Office Paper Recycling Project has been full of incredible experiences, personal an academic. The majority of my internship has been spent organizing the second annual National Office Recycling Award ceremony. Working on this project forced me to confront one of my greatest personal obstacles - my shyness. The responsibility placed on me while organizing such a large event required me to better my organizational and personal skills, two skills I felt were ones that needed to be worked on. In addition to bettering these skills, my continuous contact both with the award winners and other members of NOPRP bettered my communication skill Being in constant contact with the public. and producing a product which was to be seen by many, made me increase my level of professionalism.
