Description
Who are we referring to when we use the term "person of color?" More often than not, Asians and Asian-Americans lack a presence in conversations regarding people of color. I am posing questions such as how do Asian and Asian-American students at Colby fall on the spectrum of color? Do other persons of color perceive Asians as people of color? Do Asians and Asian-Americans at Colby identify as people of color? What factors contribute to defining this identity? Through observational studies on Colby's campus and interviews with Colby students, my research will analyze the context we often come from when defining "person of color" and how/why that context excludes Asians and Asian-Americans.
