Description

This map shows the documented vernal pools and conserved areas in Maine. For reference, it also shows all rivers and streams, lakes, and hillshade in the state. The vernal pools, conserved lands, and hillshade layers were obtained from the Maine Office of GIS. The vernal pools data was collected by the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. The rivers and streams layer was obtained from the U.S. National Atlas Water Feature Lines data, the lake layer was obtained from the U.S. MapData Water Boundaries data, and the background is the oceans basemap from ArcGIS. All data are projected using NAD 1983 UTM Zone 19N.
