Description
The poems explore the sexual liberation of the female deriving a theoretical framework from the seminal feminist text of Simone de Beauvoir, The Second Sex. The narrator asserts her sexual freedom by addressing her libido in relation to that of her partner. The poems deconstruct various female personas, from muse to femme fatale, to illustrate the ways in which female sexuality can consciously be used to seduce and manipulate men.
