Description
Almost every Colby student has faced this problem, or at least heard about it: the transportation system at Colby. Concentrating on the short distance shuttle, the Jitney, I realized that there can be changed a lot. The recent situation is that the Jitney isnt reliable; the drivers either sometimes dont show up or you have to wait a long time for it to pick you up. There are several solutions for the current problem. My proposal is concentrating on organizing an additional Jitney that drives always the same route around Waterville, with a specific schedule, so that the students can plan better, and the second one working as it does at the moment, waiting for calls outside the route. Another part of the change is to get the drivers to be reliable and take on responsibility. This change would mean a lot to those Colby students who dont have a car, or a license. It might also reduce the amount of cars on-campus which would support a green Colby.
