Description
This project focuses on poverty and how it shapes sense of place in the Belgrade Lakes Region, combining perspectives of local residents with detailed statistics from the economics department at Colby. This study draws inspiration from Robert Nixons book, Slow Violence and the Environmentalism of the Poor, and seeks to supplement general research started in the summer. The information from this project will later be published on the sense of place website (http://web.colby.edu/senseofplace/) as well as synthesized in a paper.
