Description

The focus of my research is the ways that nuns (green nuns) practice their ministry through farming and agricultural work, and the way that the motto of ora et labora - pray and work - influences their religious ministry and their life as nuns. Essentially, I will discuss how nuns' agricultural works serve as their means of carrying out their religious vocations. I will also discuss Catholic earth-theology, and analyze the Catholic conception of the earth and the way that this imagination influences the green nuns' ministry and outlook on humanity, theology, and ecology.
