Description

In recent years, there has been an increasing trend of full nudity on stage as part of contemporary choreography. Whether pornography or nude contemporary dance, the naked body in an observational setting is inherently sexual in nature and intent. Consequently, all contemporary dance that employs nudity is pornography, although not all pornography is nude art. Nude contemporary performative dance is therefore a socially acceptable business alternative to pornography; both industries function to sell human bodies for aesthetic and physical consumption and pleasure.
