Abstract or Description

This is a map of the locations of shellfish aquaculture and fishery within the state of Maine. The sites of the shellfish fishery are only for American oysters and blue mussels, but the aquaculture sites are for all shellfish aquaculture not distinguished by species.

About the Author

Eric Walton is a student of Colby College, class of 2017. He is an Environmental Studies major who is pursuing a career in marine conservation, specifically in the realm of policy. This map was created as a project for an introduction to GIS course.

Source Data Note

All shellfish data came from the Maine Office of GIS, and projected using NAD 1983 UTM Zone 19N
