Abstract or Description

Utilizing two data sets from the Environmental Protection Agency, the map below shows the total amount of toxic release at each monitored facility in Maine according to the Toxic Release Inventory 2011 and the locations of brownfields property in Maine under the Facility Registry System. A brownfield is a property, the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse of which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant, or contaminant. Through this map, you can get an idea where these properties are and how much toxic were released around.
