Abstract or Description
This map shows the population in the townships of Maine from the 2010 Census. The populations are shown by dot density in each of the townships, dots representing every 250 people are placed randomly in their respective townships. Population change from the 1950 Census to the 2010 Census is represented by the color scale of the townships themselves. Townships with no population in 1950 that grew are represented by the highest growth on the scale.
Source Data Note
Data originally created at 1:24,000 scale and obtained from the Maine Office of GIS. The datasets used were METWP24, BLOCKS10, and CNTY24. Coordinate system is NAD 1983 UTM Zone 19N.
