Abstract or Description

This map shows the locations of humane societies and animal shelters in Maine. Shelters and humane societies are grouped together into one data set for the purpose of this map. Animal welfare locations from www.animalsheltersinmaine.com were grouped by zip code and plotted using the latitude and longitude coordinates of the respective zip codes. Municipalities with more shelters are represented by larger circles on the map.

These data are projected using NAD 1983 UTM Zone 19N.
