Disney Princess films have been the subject of hundreds of academic articles. Scholars have examined families, femininity, religion, and body image in the nine princess films. This article looks into one of the only unexplored areas in the franchise: masculinity. The paper critically analyzes masculine roles in the Cinderella series, the Mulan series, and The Princess and the Frog.
