Abstract
This paper examines the history of medical radiation technology from the discovery oftbe X-ray to medically acclaimed radiation treatment therapy for cancer patients. The history has not been a complete success. This technology has a history of both joyous findings as well as dangerous ones. Even with the dangerous findings, radiology has persisted and has become a staple branch of the medical community without which we would not know if we had a broken bone or where a tumor might be or be able to kill cancerous cells. Its history is pertinent to anyone who has experienced a dental X-ray exam or hopes for further research in radiation as a cancer treatment.
