Description
My grandfather enlisted in the Marines at near the end of World War II. He studied at the US Marine Merchant Cadet Academy in San Mateo, CA before serving on the SS Pampero in San Francisco, CA. He served for about a year and a half with the Merchant Marines before returning to school to finish his college education. In my presentation, I will discuss my grandfather's training and service and how they demonstrate the romanticization of World War II.
