Description

Map showing an overlay of Maines conserved lands and biophysical regions. This gives the viewer a sense of the amount of land conserved in each of Maines unique habitats. Rivers and lakes giver the viewer a sense of orientation, as do the surrounding lands, ocean and inset map. Data was gathered from: http://www.maine.gov/megis/catalog/ Only larger lakes and rivers are labeled to provide label clarity and avoid an information overload. A hillshade layer gives the map texture. The conserved lands are shown with a semi-transparent white fill.
