Description

Civic engagement in the form of volunteering and service learning adds a certain dynamic to curricula that cannot be found within a classroom setting. Through a proposal for the implementation of a mandatory service hour requirement for Colby students, I hope to shed light on the advantages and disadvantages surrounding civic engagement at Colby and the benefits that it may bring not only to students but to the college and Waterville community as a whole.
