This map represents the relationship between population density (people per km²) and the presence of hospitals within the state of Maine. The purpose of this map is to highlight the need for hospitals in the most populated areas.

About the Author

Dominique Kone is a junior Environmental Studies: Conservation Biology Concentration major with a passion for animal behavior and the conservation of endangered species.

Source Data Note

This map was compiled using Census Block (2010) and Hospital data layers from the Maine Office of GIS. Both data layers were projected in the North American Datum of 1983 Universal Transverse Mercator Zone 19N Coordinate System.
