Abstract
The record kept scratching. O yes, that was it. Where had be been? He must have fallen asleep for a minute; bottles were all over the floor. That was it back in high school. Way before, way before this lousy time when the record kept scratching around and around like a nightmare, like the time when he had had his tonsils taken out and he felt paralyzed, and the nurse kept saying, "Breathe deeply. just breathe. Count. Let's hear you count. One. Two..."
