Description

Atlantic salmon populations are declining in Maine due to fishing pressure and the destruction of their habitat, namely the presence of dams and impoundments across the state. Therefore, it is important to assess the salmon habitat that remains. This map shows different salmon habitat types that can be found in Maine. Additionally, it labels the rivers and streams so one could find these habitat areas.
