The Strider Years Draw to a Close
At the end of the faculty-trustee dinner on June 3, President Strider stepped to the microphone and made a brief but momentous announcement. Afterwards, members of the audience rushed forward to wish the Striders well. Trustee Kenneth Johnson '37, shown here with the President, was one of them.
Not only did Doris Kearns Goodwin '64 visit with Albert Mavrinac, one of her favorite Colby professors, she spoke about him and others when she gave the commencement address May 28. The weekend was marked by fine oration and the kind of weather people dream of.
A. A. "Gus" D'Amico '28, Ruth Williams '28, Ruth D'Amico and Connie Adair Cole '28 were among the hundreds who came back for one of the largest Alumni Weekend turnouts in recent years. The parties were delightful, the weather was terrible, and the Alumni Council Symposium offered concrete insights into the way the college works.
