Description

This presentation will examine two films, Deepa Mehtas Fire, and Shamim Sharifs I Cant Think Straight through the themes of marriage, love, and lesbian relationships. I will particularly examine how setting affects each of these themes; Fire is set in India, while I Cant Think Straight is set in England. I will also take into account the background of the directors of the two films, and the possible motivations behind basing a film around a lesbian relationship.
