Description

Sexual violence is an issue that haunts college campuses around the United States. At the core of this issue is a lack of a clear definition for sexual violence, a shift in society which promotes the behavior, and finally a lack of education on the matter. This project will delve into the issue of sexual violence at Colby and ways to prevent it. The proposal for change is the implementation of a mandatory first year class which would be taught during the first week of orientation. The focus would be on preparing freshmen for the possible scenarios they may encounter and how to best handle them when the occasion arises.
