Abstract or Description

This map shows the locations of deer wintering areas in comparison to areas reserved for conservation. As a reference, the counties of Maine are outlined and labeled. As can be seen from the shading, the southern and coastal areas of Maine are more heavily populated. It is interesting to note that deer wintering areas do not often overlap with conservation areas, and many deer wintering areas are found in areas of higher population.
